Every line is built, not configured
You do not get a settings page and a weekend. We build your line around your departments, your people, your services and your refusals, then test it on live calls before it answers one of yours.
Mahara Labs builds and operates Usherwell. Each line is engineered for one business — its language, its departments, its rules — and run as a service, so nobody has to maintain it.
Most AI phone products hand you a dashboard and a prompt box, and the result sounds like a dashboard and a prompt box. The work that makes a caller trust a line — knowing which questions to ask, who takes what, when to stop asking, and what must never be said — is the part nobody wants to do. That is the part we do.
It is also why our pricing looks unusual. A custom-built line is normally an agency project with a five-figure quote attached. Ours starts at a setup fee and $79 a month, because the engineering is shared across every business we build for, while the configuration is genuinely yours.

Prices, timescales, opening hours, a colleague's availability — anything it could get wrong is a rule in the system, not a matter of judgement. That is the difference between a receptionist and a chatbot.
Asked directly, it says plainly that it is an automated assistant and offers a person. Nobody has ever been lost by an honest answer. Plenty have been lost by the other kind.
Your business changes — new staff, new hours, a service you no longer offer. You tell us and we change it. You are not left describing your own company to a form.
Not a sales team. Tell us how your phones are set up and we will tell you plainly whether this is worth your money.
Hello — ask me anything about how this works, what it costs, or whether it would fit your phones.
